Danny (the first-person narrator), a soldier with weird thoughts 
(thinking of an old man, who made birdcurry out of a bird he burried, or an old lady with bad breath, who flew into 
the arms of a policeman while jogging, or thinking of singing mice) waited for the bus, but without a ticket. 
In the bus (to Amarillo) another man recognized Danny and his “problems”, because of his sweating. He told Danny to stop drinking coffee, because this could be the reason for his daydreaming and weired thoughts. 
Danny went out of the bus, but not able to think normal.
