Which means of transport do you use usually?
Berlin is a city of great transport system. It has two types of subway: S-Bahn and U-Banh, trams and buses go all over around the city. And really good point is everything comes just on time. Ok, we have small problem here – a lot of reconstructions take place some time. But you easily can switch one to another because usually they are all connected somehow, especially in the city center. You need to get used to the system and how it works, but when you learn everything it will be really easy to get any where.
Also Berlin has good system of bicycle roads.
Why do you use it?
I use public transport because first I don’t have a car, but I don’t care about it, because in such a city as Berlin it is even easier to go with tram or subway.
Second is when you go with a car you can’t see as much as when you go with public transport. For example you can have a good tour just using ring subway, because it doesn’t go underground but across the city.
Which is your favorite means of transport?
But my favorite type of transport is my bicycle. Love it).
Why?
I love to travel with my bicycle because I can stop where ever I want. it’s cheaper, just by a it one time, you can buy a second hand at one of the floh-markets. And bicycle roads are everywhere. You can park your bike near subway station or go with it there, but in that case you need to buy extra ticket for bike.

Which means of transport do you use usually?
I usually use public transportation.
Why do you use it?
I like to look out of the window of overground trains, watching at people on the street. What is even more interesting is looking at people directly around me in trains.
Which is your favorite means of transport?
Depends on the city. Summer in cities where you can ride a bike is great. The huge advantage is having the overall control. But when I am exausted from my day I prefer public transportation-. Then I can relax on my way home.
Why?
I like to chose a way through the city to get food for my eyes. When I can go by bike I get a lot of impressions from the city itself, when I use public transportation I get impressions from the people living there. And there are many different kinds of people around. Some are conservative, some alternative, different cultures and aims. When I observe this stuff I feel creativity coming up in my mind. As I am an author in my freetime I use the public transportation as one of my creativity sources. Even taking the same way every day at similar time – the environment and therefore the impressions are different. That is what I need for my fantasy…

I usually use a bike to get around Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Why do you use it?
I don’t like waiting for trains. I like the control you have on a bike, you need to get somewhere faster, you pedal harder.
Which is your favorite means of transport?
Biking is by far my favorite way to travel.
Why?
I like to travel by bike because I feel that you get to experience the city you live in in a different way. You can change your route, go down a block you have never been down before, and get off whenever you please. There is nothing better then biking over the Williamsburg Bridge when winter is turning into Spring and the night air is starting to feel warm again.

A bicycle is a wonderful thing, with feet for when it’s not. And those BIGREDBUSES. Get on for fun.
Why?
Eco warrior? No. I just like to be independent.
I get to see more on my bike.
I’m fully aware of left, right, up and down, forward and, to a degree, behind. Take nothing for granted.

I can’t really tell. They all have pros and cons.

I really love the way people in London reinvent everyday goods. We just happend to pass by an old car which was turned into an advertising pillar. =)

Which means of transport do you use usually?
Usually I drive my SUV.
Why do you use it?
I have to have a large car because I live in a place that has hurricanes and sometimes mandatory evacuations. I have a dog that I would never, ever leave behind.
I can’t depend on public transportation where I live. Everything is too far away for me to walk and the roads are very busy so it isn’t safe to ride a bike.
Which is your favorite means of transport?
I would rather be able to walk.
Why?
It would be better for the environment and it would cost less.

Which means of transport do you use usually?
I usually go by foot.
Why do you use it?
In my opinion going by foot provides the highest degree of independency and, of course, is the most cost saving alternative. My home city is a very small one, therefore the distances are manageable. In bigger cities I usually use the subway.
I often use the “ship of the desert”, a camel. This means of transportation is just for fun. Sometimes people in the neighbourhood organize a camel riding competition, which always guarantees much fun.
Which is your favorite means of transport?
The camel, of course.
Why?
Most tourists complain about the camel riding. But they are not used to it. My backside does not hurt after one hour;-), quite in contrary it’s much fun and tradition in our country. Everytime riding a camel is still a special adventure.

Bicycle and train
Why do you use it?
I live in Wageningen, The Netherlands. Here the life goes smooth and cycling is part of the country’s culture. Every place is reachable by bicycle and the infrastructure is meant for that. Is fast, cheap and you can have time to think on your ideas while getting from the point A to point B, while in a car drive would be a stressful situation because of the traffic, etc. Cycling is fun and makes everyday life more convenient.
Which is your favorite means of transport?
Train, and bicycle for European cities mostly.
Why?
Seeing the landscape (urban or rural), listening to some nice beats while in the train. Having time to relax and enjoy the ride is what makes travelling by train such a nice experience. Delays, and related issues can be tough but at the end its easier than other means of transport such car or plane. When arrived to my destination, taking a bicycle completes the experience because is stress-free to move around in European cities which many times are small and with a lot of turns and narrow streets. I like to travel by these means because seeing and enjoying my music is essential to make moving from A to B fun.

Which means of transport do you use usually?
I prefer using public transport (metro, bus).
Why do you use it?
In Paris it’s a lot easier to go around by using the Metro (subway). Using a car is quite difficult because parking slots tend to be occupied and if you get one you have to make sure that you don’t pull the hand break. As Paris is lacking parking space people usually push your car a little bit forth or back to fit in the small slots. That is why most cars in the city are old and covered with bumps and scratches. (like on the second picture)
Which is your favorite means of transport?
I occasionally take the Batobus, which is a public boat line that connects the most important sights along the Seine.
Why?
It’s a great trip and you can watch all those tourists enjoying their stay in Paris. I happend to sit next to a group of some American girls celebrating their bachelor party in funny dresses. I love this nice and funny moments… You’ll have to try it yourself.

I usually take my bike to ride around.
Why do you use it?
I use the bike, because it is cheaper than using the local boda-bodas (motorcycle or bicycle taxis) and it allows you to move faster than walking by foot.
Which is your favorite means of transport?
The bike, of course.
Why?
Using a bike is economically friendly and I help to preserve the environment :) Together with FABIO, the organisation I am volunteering for at the moment, we try to promote economically friendly means of transport. Especially here in Uganda there is a huge potential for that.

It would be great if they would finish the metro. They started constructing it in the 1980s – but the opening is scheduled for 2017.
Why?
Chelyabinsk is a quite big city but it’s an industrial city. I think the 3 planned metro lines would make it more comfortable to get around.

Why do you use it?
Cars don’t make sense in Rome because of traffic jams, narrow and crowed streets.
Which is your favorite means of transport?
I like riding my bike – even if the air quality is very poor sometimes.
Why?
It is easier to get from A to B. You don’t have to wait for buses, you don’t have to find a parking slot, buses might be crowed – there are lots of reasons… BUT: As you can see on the photo above – there is also a dark side: thieves or people fooling around. Everything that isn’t locked up might be gone: like saddles and wheels… I think that’s not a typical Roman problem, it’s a problem in every big city.

Which means of transport do you use usually?
You have to have an SUV in Iceland.
Why do you use it?
Because of long distances. If you want to visit the inner parts of country it’s necessary for passing the fords and driving on the gravel roads. Even in the summer the rivers you have to pass might be deep and dangerous. But it’s so much fun too.
Which is your favorite means of transport?
There is a charging station for electric vehicles in Reykjavik – as you can see on the picture. I’d prefer to drive an electric car if I could afford it.
Why?
It is much more fun to drive in “silent mode” – and of course for environmental protection reasons.

Usually I use public transportation – subway preferably.
Why do you use it?
It’s fast and effective mean of transportation. The greatest point being it doesn’t get influenced by traffic situation. Thanks to smart layout of the subway network you can save a lot of above-ground transportation by using sub.
Which is your favorite means of transport?
For me, it’s definitely my own legs. I walk by foot as much as possible.
Why?
In crowded cities when you need to reach not so far distances it is usually as much effective as public transportation – you can avoid problems with traffic, you can go shorter or not so overused ways. It’s quite effective means of transportation in overcrowded cities like Prague is as long as the distances are not way too far. Plus, you can get some pretty sightseeing as well as keep your condition up. And… the only thing you need is decent shoes.

All sorts of public transport.
Why do you use it?
I hate looking for parking lots – although I really like driving cars.
Which is your favorite means of transport?
Cars – I really love them, although I’m not addicted to a brand.
Why?
Because I’m independent. I can go wherever I want. I don’t have to think about bus scedules or connections… that’s great.
Therefore I decided to write a love letter to my first car – I will never forget my Golf Rabbit.

Which means of transport do you use usually?
I usually drive by bike.
Why do you use it?
Using the bike means complete flexibility – I can easily pass by all the cars waiting at the red light…I would not like to lose this quick fix. Besides, getting caught by the police for driving fast is so much more difficult ;)
Which is your favorite means of transport?
I really like driving the car – going fast down the highway (let me add: GERMAN highways)…;)
Why?
Driving by car serves a high degree of comfort and more independence than taking the bus or the train. It is relaxing to drive from A to B in my own “room” with my own chosen music and my own pace. But I do not like going by car in the city because the worsening traffic conditions make my own trip longer and more stressful.
