Name of place:
Akrata, Greece

Where is it exactly:
This is a small town in the northern Peloponese, Greece, on the Corinthian Sea, a two hour drive west from Athens.

How do you get there:
The town itself is a short drive up into the mountains. The sea is down along the National Road.

Why is it so special for you:
This is the place where my father was born and raised. This is the beach where my father learned to swim. After we moved to the United States, we visited this town yearly in late summer, at the end of our holidays in Greece. The town was very different from where I was raised in the states. Everyone knew who we were; many of us related.  I loved walking through town with my father, where everyone would greet him.  This town helped me realize I had roots somewhere in the world.

Life Goal:
I’m not sure about my life goal right now, but some of my interests include:
-learning about cultures different from mine
-dancing like Michael Jackson
-speaking Japanese
-fencing

Why:  
Because I’m only 16.
